Working for Justice and Inclusion in 2022: Our 25th Anniversary Year

Since our founding in 1997, we’ve worked for transformation in church and society.

This year, we expanded that work in new and exciting ways! Here’s just a fraction of what we’ve undertaken:We’ve seen our biggest year yet for our signature Covenant Conversations, gathering cross-sections of congregations in partnership with presbyteries, bringing worship, training and facilitated discussions. We continue to partner with Presbyterians at different stages of their journey toward inclusion for mutual support and meaningful engagement. We’ve launched new efforts to address the challenges facing LGBTQIA+ call seekers, including the start of new video and digital resources for training and supporting candidates and inquirers, pastor nominating committees, and presbytery committees on ministry and preparation for ministry. These efforts will come to fruition in 2023.We’ve preached and taught in churches all over the country. Esteemed leaders from the Covenant Network of Presbyterians staff and board of directors have offered messages of inclusion and pride with theological depth and hope for the church’s future, while weekend-long events have supported congregational efforts to deepen and expand their welcome. We’ve fielded urgent requests and calls for support from pastors, candidates, presbytery leaders and denominational officials, all seeking our resources, wisdom, and experience breaking through barriers, preserving unity and catalyzing transformation.

In 2023, we are deepening our investment in serving the church.

Through your generosity, we’ll continue to extend and grow all the activities listed above, while also building on them in the year ahead. We anticipate:Expanding our staff to strengthen our communications, improving the accessibility of resources and quality of resources on our website and extending the impact of our social media presence, and providing for additional support to our Covenant Conversations in advance preparation and needed follow-up work Training a new cohort of speakers, teachers and consultants to work with congregations and councils across the church to be more inclusive, welcoming spaces. This effort will diversify the voices and perspectives we can offer, and strengthen the overall witness of the church across the countryRenewing our engagement with world mission and ecumenical partners and General Assembly agencies to promote faithful witness and ensure accountability to the church’s commitments

Your continued support is critical for our ability to help the church live into the promises of what we’ve accomplished together so far.

Please consider contributing as this successful year draws to a close. Thank you! And may God bless your ministry and that of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians in the year ahead.
