First Presbyterian Church, Iowa City, Iowa, is seeking a full-time Director of Christian Education. Working with the Christian Education Committee, the Director plans and leads inclusive programming for children, youth and adults, recruits and trains volunteers in keeping with the church's Safe Church policy, and organizes opportunities for discipleship. The ideal candidate will encourage spiritual growth through all ages of congregational life, create a welcoming environment for children's curiosity, help youth explore their faith in a safe space and support all ages in drawing closer to God.

Over the past year, around 30 youth and 50 adults took part in FPC's Christian Education programming. FPC's mission is to spread the Word of God through Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and live lives of justice, mercy and faith. We take the Bible seriously but not literally and believe children should be both heard and seen in worship.
