Our congregation is currently seeking an Interim/Transitional Pastor. This position will work alongside our session and leadership to guide the transition from the well-deserved retirement of a long-standing pastor, through the process of identifying a new Called and Installed Pastor. We are a fully inclusive church that welcomes everyone. At FPC1793 all persons seeking to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and claim Him as Lord and Savior are accepted and invited to be authentic. As a Covenant Network Congregation, the church has actively taught inclusive language around gender identity, sexual orientation and non-discrimination in ordination, sharing this directly with the congregation in worship. Music ministry is central to FPC’s worship life and identity evidenced by its robust Regional Concert Series (organ, recital, handbell concert, chorale concerts). FPC also records a video preview of worship through its video ministry, extending pastoral care and community to homebound members, those with mobility challenges, and others unable to attend in person. Additionally, FPC has become increasingly engaged in immigration-related social justice, participating in mission ministry events alongside immigrant communities in the region, reflecting the congregation’s commitment to living out its inclusive theology through direct action, not only welcome statements.
