New Members Bring Experience, Creativity and Passion to the Covenant Network Board

Kathy Lueckert, Ruling Elder

The Covenant Network of Presbyterians is delighted to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors: Kathy Lueckert, Dr. Hanna Reichel and the Rev. Abigail Trautmann. Each brings deep roots in the Reformed tradition and a commitment to the church's witness of generous hospitality and faithful justice.

Ruling Elder Kathy Lueckert is a twelfth-generation Presbyterian who has served in various roles at all levels of the denomination, including president of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation. She currently serves as Senior Director of Business Operations at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, Kansas.

"Over thirty years ago a lesbian couple included me in their lives and changed my life and perspective forever," Lueckert said. "Serving with the Covenant Network is my way of paying that gift forward."

Dr. Hanna Reichel, Ruling Elder

Ruling Elder Dr. Hanna Reichel is the Charles Hodge Professor of Systematic Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary. Their academic work bridges Reformed Theology and Queer Theology, and covers topics such as confessions, the incarnation, political theology, theological anthropology, and eschatology. A ruling elder at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, New Jersey, Reichel is committed to a church that is called to go beyond itself in its witness to the capacious and transformative love of Christ.

"We don't have to be included; we are already here," Reichel said. "Come and join us, for the joy in the Lord is our strength!"

The Rev. Abigail Trautmann

The Rev. Abigail Trautmann, who goes by Abigail or Abby, serves as Executive Presbyter and Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Western New York. She began this call in January 2025 after years of ministry in California’s Central Valley, where she developed a deep love for ministry that is grounded, collaborative, and oriented toward real community need. Abigail’s work centers on strengthening congregations, supporting pastoral leadership, and helping the church navigate seasons of change with clarity, courage, and care. Abigail and her wife, Missy, live in Buffalo with her stepfather, Joe, and their red standard poodle, Gus. In her free time, Abigail enjoys reading, knitting, photography, and roller skating.

CNP is grateful for the gifts these leaders bring as the network continues its work toward a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) that is both inclusive and united. The Board also offers its deep gratitude to Christopher Dahlke of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Alex Vaiz of Sacramento, California, who recently completed terms of service on the Board.
